Welcome Back to Term 2

Kia ora

We have had a busy start to Term 2, with children now grouped with teachers across the syndicate for Reading, Writing and Maths. This has meant we have made some changes to our timetable. Our library day is now Tuesday and our reading programme is also altered. Students will not be bringing home a reading book, unless they are involved in a supplementary reading programme. I would still recommend that children read at home everyday and that they are encouraged to discuss their reading, as well as what they are doing at school, with you.
A great addition to our class has been the arrival of a new year four student- Thomas. Thomas has a sister, Frankie, who has started in Amanda’s room. They have both settled in very quickly, with the Kereru Syndicate children being very welcoming.
Activities scheduled for Term 2:
  • Cross Country Running training has started in preparation for Race Day in week five. We are training everyday, please ensure your child wears suitable shoes and clothes.
  • Our Inquiry, starting in week four, will have a science focus and is entitled ‘Change’.

We are looking forward to an exciting Term ahead, thanks again for your ongoing support. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. Send me an emailĀ here.
